No, my dear, that's not Cookie Monster. If you want a Sesame Street analogy, I'd have to go with Rosita, the new latina muppet who teaches us the Spanish word of the day. Yesterday it was "musica," in case you're wondering. Yes, we've finally started watching contemporary Sesame Street in our house since we ran out of the old school ones on DVD. You know what's great? Despite the fact that Leo seemed fascinated by Elmo before we started watching the show when Elmo was the forbidden fruit, he now finds him totally boring and asks "Mommy, why does he talk babytalk?" Yay! So anyway, your new summer task is to teach us the Spanish word of the day . . .

No, it's fixed now . . . not that color anymore.

And I'm glad that you have let your son join the 2000s, instead of clamping him in the seventies. Think about all the jokes he didn't get on the pre-school playground. Really, you were hindering his social life. Making him Amish . . .

And glad that he follows your genetics when it comes to Elmo. Elmo doesn't bother me quite as much . . . but good to know that dislike is hardwired.
